Track progress of Leinweber Computer Science and Information Building as it is built

A new website highlighting news and live updates about the Leinweber Computer Science and Information Building has been launched. The new home of collaboration, breakthrough technologies and innovative research, the Leinweber CSI Building expand space for Computer Science and Engineering and will house the School of Information in its entirety. 

Construction has begun and the building will be completed in 2025. Until then, community members and other interested parties can stay informed on construction progress and watch two live camera feeds of the construction progress through the new website.  

The building will bring CSE and UMSI together under one roof for the first time, strengthening their collaboration. It will have flexible classrooms and student project spaces, maker labs, offices and event spaces. The architect’s vision for the building is featured on the website. 

Additionally, the Leinweber CSI Building will be the first facility at the University of Michigan to feature geothermal heating and cooling, supporting U-M’s mission of reducing its climate impact.
